N’ganj mayor anxious over market reopening

Dr Selina Hayat Ivy, Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation, is afraid to reopen the markets in Narayanganj as this district had been branded as epic centre of Corona virus.

She expressed her opinion to the media at her office in Narayanganj Nagarbhabon on Bangabandhu road in the city.

The markets and shops in the city opened in a limited time but the gathering do not maintain social and physical distance.

In a grave concerned mind Mayor Ivy told the media, “How I am working to save the people that is out of assumption”. She also said that in this situation we have to depend on the grace of Allah and our physical stamina.

One lakh people in the city corporation area have received quick response (QR) card through the respective ward councillors. Fifty thousand QR card have reached the city till now and  the rest will be arrive soon.

Ivy informed that they have set up two booths for collecting samples of corona virus infected people but results are arriving within 10 to 15 days.

She urged the law enforcement members  to do their duty properly to keep the footpath clear always. She said she has also ordered to spray anti-mosquito medicine in city area as the menace of mosquito rose.
