The leaders of the Mymensingh Divisional Press Club extendeded floral greetings and congratulations to the newly appointed Divisional Commissioner of Mymensingh Division Farah Shammi after she assumed office on Thursday.
The Press Club extended the greetings at a courtesy call on her at the Divisional Commissioner's office on Thursday afternoon.
Mymensingh Divisional Press Club President FMA Salam, Vice President Rafiqul Islam Aadhar Advocate, M. Kibria Chowdhury Selim, M Mokhlesur Rahman Khan, Matiul Alam, General Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam, Joint General Secretaries Mosharraf Hossain Khasru and Bhajan Das, Organizing Secretary Abdul Haque Liton, Social Welfare Secretary Sabina Yasmin, Executive Members Nasir Uddin Ahmed, SM Shahidul Islam, Md. Asaduzzaman Talukder, Nabila Afrin, among others, were present during the meeting.
They welcomed the new Divisional Commissioner and expressed their hope that she would be successful and prosperous.
Divisional Commissioner Farah Shammi NDC expressed her sincere gratitude after receiving the greetings of the Press Club leaders. She said, "My main goal is to ensure the overall development of Mymensingh Division and provide efficient services to the people. The media plays a very important role in this arena." She emphasized on maintaining close cooperation and regular communication with journalists.
She also said, "The media is the mirror of society and a companion of development. Journalists play an important role in presenting the activities of the administration to the people correctly. Your constructive opinions are always valuable in establishing transparency and accountability."
Press Club General Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam praised the newly appointed Commissioner's previous achievements and administrative skills. She expressed hope that the development activities of the division will be more dynamic and people-oriented under his leadership. She also assured that all-round cooperation will continue from the Press Club.
