In Mirzaganj Upazila of Patuakhali, green mustard trees and yellow flowers have created a unique beauty across the crop fields. Mustard flower smell is spreading in nature. Mustard plantations in fields attract attention. Farmers have worked tirelessly to raise the desired crop at home. They are being advised and supervised by the officers of Upazila Agriculture Department.

According to upazila agriculture office sources, farmers have cultivated mustard on 20 hectares of land in 6 unions of the upazila this season. Farmers are getting more profit by cultivating this crop with less time, less cost and less effort. As a result, the interest of farmers in mustard cultivation is increasing day by day.

Monir Mridha of Chailabunia village and Anshar Howladar of Amragachia village of the upazila said, "Hopefully the yield will be good this season." The yield is 6 to 7 maunds per bigha. Also, mustard production requires less fertilizer and does not require irrigation, pesticides and weeding. So this crop is done at low cost and short time. Boro rice is cultivated on that land.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Arafat Hossain said, 'Mustard is an early crop. This year farmers have been made widely aware of mustard cultivation and agricultural incentives have been given. As the weather conditions are favourable, there is a possibility of a bumper crop of mustard this season.
