Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will join his divisional team Khulna (Monday) for the second round match of the National Cricket League (NCL), a BCB official said, reports BSS.
Khulna will take on Rajshahi Division in their second match that begins from October 17 at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
Mustafizur missed the first game of Khulna when they played against Rangpur Division. The fast bowler, adorably called as the ‘Cutter Master’ was due to play the game and had already reached the airport to board a Khulna-bound plane.
But the BCB physic considered him ‘still not fit’ to play cricket and brought him back from the airport to stay in Dhaka to continue rehab.
However, he is deemed fully fit to play now and was given a NOC to play the NCL.
“We are hopeful that he will be available for us in the second
round as he was given the NOC. He is due to join the side tomorrow,” Khulna coach Kazi Imdadul Bashar Ripon said.
“We also expected him to play the first round match but the BCB didn’t allow him to play. However we have high hopes on him that he would make significant contribution to
team’s victory.”
