Bangladesh head coach Russel Domingo said Mustfizur Rahman is selected in the national team to work on his technical issues rather than playing in the test match against Zimbabwe. Mustafizur form has been a worry for Bangladesh national team after the world cup in all formats of the game.

Domingo feels Mustafizur needs to work on his shape before considered   playing test cricket

“Until Mustafizur improves on his shape I think he is very much a white ball bowler. There was discussion that we need to still have with him and we believe he needs to improve before he can be a Test match bowler. Like I said he needs to work on technical works before playing Test match but he is our number one white-ball bowler” Domingo told this to a leading cricket website.

Bangladesh has selected six fast bowlers for the test match against Zimbabwe and Domingo feels they are selected to work with fast bowling coach Ottis Gibson

“We are not going to play 4 fast bowlers that’s not going to happen. I think it is important to get those fast bowlers together to work with us for 4 to 5 days. We have a new bowling coach. It is good for him to look at Mustfizur, Hasan Mahmud, Rahi and Ebadat and all the other bowlers that he had not seen before. You are not going to play four fast bowlers in Dhaka. We feel those are the six best fast bowlers we have for test cricket going forward.

Domingo feels that Bangladesh management needs to give time to players like Mithun to get the best out of for the future.

“Mithun is a fantastic young player and I do not want him to play a Test match and get dropped in the next game. I want to give him an extended run because can be a fantastic player. People need to be patient with him but having said that they need to perform as well.’’ Domingo said to leading cricket website.

Domingo also said talent wise Liton Kumar Das is the best Bangladeshi batsman he has seen while coaching Bangladesh.

“I have got a lot of confidence in Liton. I think he is going to be Bangladesh’s best batsman. When he bats, looks the best batsman and it’s just the mental matter of scoring big scores. Talent wise he is the best batsman in the country” said Domingo.

Domingo is also not worried about captain Mominul Haque lack of runs in the test matches as he said he needs time to deal with captaincy and score runs at the same time

“Mominul probably has got the best Test record in Bangladesh. He has got eight hundred, but it will take some time to balance him with captaincy and scoring runs as well. He got a few things to work on technically. He is one of the best batsmen in Bangladesh we need to back him” added Domingo.
