Mustafa Kamal Syed, a TV personality and head of the program department of the private television channel NTV, has passed away after being infected with coronavirus.
He died at the Square Hospital in the capital yesterday (May 31) at 1:30 pm. He was 78 years old at the time of his death. NTV Chairman and Managing Director Mohammad Mosaddeq Ali and the NTV family have expressed their condolences over the death of Mustafa Kamal Syed.
Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of NTV Pavel Islam said, “His ventilation was opened at 1:30 pm yesterday today. NTV authorities and family members will sit down and confirm the rest.”
It is learned that Mostafa Kamal Syed will be buried at Banani Cemetery.
However, the time of burial and the matter of Zanaza will be decided by the family as per the government instructions.
Meanwhile, Mustafa Kamal Syed was admitted to Square Hospital last Friday (May 15). Since then he was being treated there.
Mustafa Kamal Syed has spent most of his career on TV channels. He has been in charge of the program department since the inception of NTV in 2003.
Earlier, he was the head of Bangladesh Television. In his 52-year career, he has also worked at the top level in Pakistan TV. He also made a unique contribution to the country’s TV scene. He used to speak directly with the grassroots level in the selection of dramas and programmes.
