Singer, composer and music director Prithwi Raj has passed away. He suffered a fatal cardiac arrest while working in his studio.
He died at around 4:30 am on Sunday (December 15) at City Hospital. The duty doctor of the hospital, Sajedul, at that time confirmed it.
According to the duty doctor Prithwi Raj’s family members brought him to the hospital around 3pm. He was then admitted to the emergency department. Shortly after being admitted to the emergency department, doctors pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, Prithwi Raj's close friend, lyricist Rasel said, Prithwi went to his studio in Dhanmondi for work around 9 pm last night. Afterwards, he didn’t answer his wife’s calls who kept calling his cell phone until around 12:30 am. It was initially thought he was working.
But, not getting any sort of response from his phone everyone got anxious about whether something had happened to him. Even after knocking on the door several times when Prithwi Raj didn’t respond, the studio door was broken down to gain access where he was found to be lying on a chair.
He was later taken to the City Hospital in Dhanmondi. Recently, Prithwi Raj’s song, popularly titled ‘Amar Ei Baje Shobhab Kono Din Jabe Na’, sung by Rohan was released. Prithwiraj was working on ABC Radio.
