Md. Robel, Munshiganj
The Bangladesh Post organised a workshop with the newspaper readers at the Multimedia Hall of Government Harganga College, Munshiganj on Thursday morning. Newspaper readers from various professional groups shared their views at the workshop. Munshiganj District Correspondent of Bangladesh Post Md. Robel conducted the function.
Presided over by Munshi Sirajul Haque, Associate Professor of the Department of English at Government Haranga College, the function was addressed by teachers, journalists, students and common newspaper readers of the district. Atiqur Rahman, a member of Munshiganj District Press Club emphasised for more analytical news to be published in Bangladesh Post.
Journalist Khaled Chowdry remarked BP as a good and nice national daily. He said, more standard news on international affairs is needed to be published and the language should be more refined. He added, like that of the Washington Post, Bangladesh Post should also encourage constrictive criticism and inspiring news for nation building. Use of easy words in the news of the newspaper is appreciable, he added.
Munshi Sirajul Haque, Associate Professor of the Department of English of Government Haranga College said, as a national daily, the contents of the newspaper are informative. There should also news on diverse issues and subjects. He opined, news of local issues like the entertainment, sports and education should be included further. More analytical write ups should be incorporated for advanced readers. More interesting writings including literature may be tabled for the readers, he added.
HSC 1st Year Student Mahrin Afrana Momo said, The Bangladesh post newspaper gives us a lot of knowledge in social, political, national and international affairs. For this reason, I read this newspaper, it is quite a good newspaper.
Govt. Haraganga College Student Shawaib Moholdar requested to write about local poor, helpless people’s lifestyle and publish those in the newspaper. He also requested to include writings on diverse religious affairs. He opined, the newspaper was good for knowing something new.
Moksedul Momen from Sirajdikhan said, like other national English newspapers, Bangladesh Post earned its popularity within a short time. By reading the newspaper, we are able to find out what is happening in the country and in abroad. It served the politics, economy, sports and other news of the country and abroad. He hoped, more readers will be attracted with the newspapers within a short time. He opined to include more materials for students in the newspaper.
