The Local Government Department of the Ministry of Local Government has ordered the reinstatement of Councilor Sapna Akhter Lipi, who was temporarily expelled from Ward No. 4, 5 and 6 of Jamalpur Municipality.
On December 29, through a notification in this regard, the expulsion order was revoked and she was ordered to be reinstated. She filed a writ petition in the High Court challenging the validity of the ban. In the hearing of the writ petition, the High Court Division of the Supreme Court granted a stay of 6 months on his expulsion.
It is known that councilor Swapna Akhter Lipi, who is reserved in Hazrat Ali Market on Medical Road in Jamalpur city, has a land dispute with Zilhaj Ali Nadu Sheikh, the husband of another.
Swapna Akhter Lipi was temporarily expelled from her position as a councilor from the Local Government Department of the Ministry of Local Government on September 19. Councilor Swapna Akhter Lipi filed a writ petition in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court on October 13, challenging the validity of the expulsion.
On the same day, the court suspended the temporary expulsion order of Councilor Swapna Akhter Lipi for the next six months. At the same time, the court issued a rule to show cause to the deputy secretary of the local government department as the order of temporary expulsion of Swapna Akhter Lipi was not legal.
In the notification issued by the local government department on December 29, it was mentioned that the reserved ward councilor of Ward No. 4, 5 and 6 of Jamalpur Municipality Swapna Akhter Lipi filed the reply to show cause as per the directions of the Local Government Department and as the reply filed was satisfactory, she was reinstated.
