Aimed at bolstering the essence of the liberation war, three factions of the Muktijoddha Sangshad have pledged an alliance to work unitedly for strengthening the pro-liberation forces.
This resolute commitment was solidified at a meeting held on Friday under the guidance of Rashedul Alam, the chief of the national committee for freedom fighters within the Awami League.
The meeting was graced by the presence of Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, who served as the chief guest.
Major General Helal Morshed Khan (Retd), the incumbent president of the Muktijoddha Sangsad, along with its former president Ahad Chowdhury, freedom fighter SP Mahbub, and several other esteemed freedom fighters, arrived at a consensus after a comprehensive deliberation. Their accord underscores their shared dedication to fostering the legacy of the liberation war, with a particular emphasis on fortifying the strength of the pro-independence movement.
This pivotal meeting took place as part of the observance of the national mourning day on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. All present freedom fighters unanimously embraced the commitment to advance the ideals of the liberation war, echoing the principles that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman held dear.
Md Rashidul Alam, a former secretary and a member of the advisory council of the Bangladesh Awami League, highlighted the diversity within the liberation war groups.
With numerous freedom fighters dispersed across the nation, the unification is a significant stride towards establishing the vision of Bangabandhu. It is not merely about preserving history but actively working to breathe life into the ideals he championed.
This newfound alliance holds a dual objective: to uphold the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his dream of a prosperous "Sonar Bangla" (Golden Bengal).
The collective determination of these veterans, spanning generations, exemplifies their unwavering commitment to preserving the legacy of the liberation war and carrying its
torch into the future. As the echoes of their shared commitment reverberate, the unification of these Muktijoddhas promises to serve as a cornerstone in upholding the spirit of liberation and laying the foundation for a brighter, more united Bangladesh.
