‘Muktijoddha Complex Bhaban’ has been inaugurated in Ishwardi Upazila of Pabna district marking International Mother Language Day. Pabna-4 MP freedom fighter Nuruzzaman Bishwas inaugurated the building on Sunday noon.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Ishwardi UNO Imrul Kayes. Former MP Manjur Rahman Bishwas, Upazila chairman Nayeb Ali Bishwas, mayor Isahak Ali Malitha, vice chairman Atia Ferdous Kakoli and others were present as special guests. Freedom fighters all around the Upazila joined in the ceremony.
Construction of the complex was started in March 2017. It was handed over to the Upazila engineer's office in 2019. Upazila Executive Engineer Enamul Kabir Sunday handed over the building to UNO Imrul Kayes on Sunday.
Engineer Enamul Kabir informed that the Local Government Engineering Department of Pabna supervised the construction. A mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been installed in front of the building. This building will accommodate Muktijoddha office, conference hall, library, museum, and commercial space. 10.96 million tk was dispatched for the construction project.
