The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the squad for the tour of United Kingdom in May, Bangladesh will play Ireland in a three-match ODI series, which is a part of the ICC World Cup Super League, in Chelmsford.

The only uncapped player in the squad is 21-year-old left-arm pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury.

“Everyone likes to get a chance in the national team as I am also enjoying it.

I got the benefit of my hard work,” Mrittunjoy said to Cricfrenzy.

The left-arm pacer also said that he will take the challenge to compete with the in-form pacers in Tiger squad.

“In easy times, anyone can join the team. It is difficult to prove yourself by getting places in difficult times.

I will take it as a challenge that if I can prove myself in this situation, it will be easier to prove myself in simpler situations,” he added.

However, pacer Taskin Ahmed is not in the team. Taskin was ruled out of the recently concluded lone Test against Ireland due to injury, which became a blessing for Mrittunjoyat the moment.

Litton Das will fly today to play for the first time in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) as a Kolkata Knight Riders player but he will be available for the ODI series against Ireland.

Veteran player Mahmudullah Riyad and young Afif Hossain did not make it into the squad.
