MP gifts computers, furniture to journos

Moulvibazar-3 MP Nesar Ahmed has donated computers and furniture worth more than Tk one lakh to Moulvibazar Press Club as gift for the development and welfare of journalists.

MP Nesar Ahmed was present as the chief guest at the gift handover ceremony presided over by MA Salam and conducted by General Secretary Panna Dutt at the Press Club auditorium on Tuesday. 

The MP provided a desktop computer, a file cabinet, five high-quality table cloths and twenty-four chairs at the press club. Print and electronic media personnel working in the district were present at the time.

Among others senior journalists Sarwar Ahmed, Bakshi Iqbal Ahmed, BSS representative Sadiq Ahmed, TV Journalists Association President Adv Radha Pada Dev Sajal, Press Club Vice-President Nurul Islam Sheful, former general secretary SM Umed Ali and Saleh Elahi Kuti spoke at the programme.

At the time, MP Nesar Ahmed said the items provided at Moulvibazar Press Club were very much needed to carry out professional duties and run the organization although it is quite little. 

However, the MP assured all kinds of cooperation in the construction of the modern building of the Press Club in the future. He also wanted more cooperation from the media personnel to convey the news of the government's development work and various initiatives in the district.

The MP also called for more news coverage to make the people aware of the control and prevention of the Corona epidemic and to comply with the government's health norms.
