Move to stop drug abuse in Lohagara

A pledge against drug abuse was administered to students, teachers and others present at a programme at Shotodol Secondary School at Itna Union Parishad under Lohagara Upazila in Narail on Thursday.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Fatima Azrin Tonnee administered the pledge against drugs.

Sources said that an anti-drug awareness discussion, organised by Department of Narcotics Control Narail District Office under the management of Shotodol Secondary School, was held at the hall room of the school. Headmaster of the school Mohammad Moniruzzaman presided over the discussion. The programme was conducted by Nobarun Madok Protirodh Society’s founder president journalist Md Shoriful Islam Biplob. 

Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Fatima Azrin Tonnee spoke as the chief guest at the programme. 

Department of Narcotics Control Narail Assistant Director Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Lohagara Press Club former president Rupok Mukherjee, Lohagara Press Club former general secretary Shimul Hasan and Lohagara Journalists Union former general secretary Md Rezaul Karim spoke at the discussion.

Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Fatima Azrin Tonnee highlighted the ill-effects of drugs. She said the next generation needs to be drug-free. It is not possible to build a drug-free society without the united efforts of all. She urged everyone to everyone to come forward to develop the country leaving drugs. The UNO also administered a pledge to students, teachers and others present there against drug abuse.
