Roma are fifth after struggling to a 2-1 win over 10-man Lecce but their victory was marred after Jose Mourinho said he likely won't have injured match-winner Paulo Dybala back until next year. The Argentina forward hurt his left thigh while scoring the winning penalty two minutes after the break and appeared to be in tears on the bench after being replaced by Nemanja Matic seconds later.

Mourinho said the injury was "very bad than just bad", putting him at risk of missing all of Roma's remaining nine matches in 2022 and potentially the World Cup which starts next month.

"I haven't spoken to the medical staff but going on my experience and what he said to me it's unlikely he'll be back before 2023," said Mourinho to DAZN.
