On the occasion of Genocide Day, a discussion prayer and Milad Mahfil was organized by the district administration to pay homage to the mass grave at Moulvibazar.
Moulvibazar-3 MP Nesar Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, Zila Parishad Chairman Misbahur Rahman, Municipal Mayor Fazlur Rahman paid their respects to the seven martyrs who were killed at Itkhola on the banks of Manundi River in 1971. Upazila Chairman Kamal Hossain and other heroic freedom fighters, district police, various government departments, political and socio-cultural organizations.
Later, a prayer meeting and Milad Mahfil was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioner in collaboration with the conference and the Islamic Foundation. Besides, the upazila administration and local people paid their respects with flowers at the grave of Tara Mia, the first martyr in Shahbandar area of Sadar upazila.
