Moulvibazar journalists launch tree plantation programme

Journalists and media personnel have planted fruit and medicinal saplings in the premises of Moulvibazar Press Club. The saplings were planted at the initiative of Moulvibazar Press Club on Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Director of the District Agriculture Extension Department Kazi Lutful Bari, President of the organization M A Salam, General Secretary Panna Dutta and Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Subrata Kanti Dutta were present at the tree planting programme. 

Other media personnel also took part in the program.  Medicinal trees and fruit palm sapling were planted on the south side of the press club building. The District Department of Agricultural Extension has collaborated with the tree saplings.

Moulvibazar District Agriculture Extension Department Deputy Director Kazi Lutful Bari said - these two trees are beneficial for the environment.

We get a lot of oxygen from the medicinal neem tree, also known as Indian lilac.  Its air is good for the body. Palm tree is lightning resistant thus, it will be a helpful ally of the environment.
