Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan distributed dry food among the workers in Moulvibazar as a gift from the Prime Minister. At that time 200 packets of food were distributed among about 200 workers.

As soon as the light of dawn broke, the workers of Moulvibazar gathered at Chaumuhana Chattar in search of work with baskets and spades on their shoulders. Someone get job and leave with the owner. Many have to return home frustrated because they cannot find work. The district administration has stood by such helpless workers.

Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan distributed dry food as a gift to the Prime Minister among the workers who came for work at Chaumuhana Point in Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on Thursday morning. Revenue Deputy Collector Arnab Malakar, Assistant Commissioner Syed Safkat Ali, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Mohammad Chadu Mia were present on the occasion.

Each dry food packet contained rice - 10 kg, pulses - 1 kg, salt - 1 kg, sugar - 1 kg, chira - 2 kg, soybean oil - 2 kg, noodles - half kg.

Unexpectedly getting these foods, worker Chamir Mia said, these foods will be of great benefit during the month of Ramadan. There is no guarantee of work. That's the price of things. It is very difficult to run a family. These foods will go well for a few days.

Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan said that the decision to help the workers was not taken after they came to know about it in the media recently. Arrangements were made to distribute some dry food to the workers as the Prime Minister had received it. Hopefully this food aid will be of some use to them.
