A brutal mother killed her daughter by suffocating at college para area in Magura town on Sunday noon. The deceased was identified as Mahi, 3, and the mother is identified as Sufia Begum, 38.
Tanjina Begum and other residents of college para informed, around one in the noon Sufia came down from 3rd floor of her house carrying the body of her daughter and informed everyone about her death.
Hearing her shouts locals came forward but, instantly Sufia went back inside her house and set fire to the gas cylinder in her kitchen. On information, police and fire fighters reached her house and brought the situation under control.
Sufia was married off to Monu Mian 5 years back as her first husband Abu Taleb divorced her. Her 2nd husband Monu Mian also divorced her one year ago. Since then she is living in the house of Shahazuddin Hawlader of college para area in Magura town with her daughter. Sufia has confessed to killing her daughter by suffocating her.
When contacted Magura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saidur Rahman said, we have arrested Sufia as she has admitted of killing her daughter. Although some of her neighbors are claiming Sufia to be abnormal. We have not found any abnormality in her primarily. However, we are trying to find out the reason behind the killing, he added.
