Mother, daughter killed in Faridpur fire

Two persons including a three year aged child and her mother were killed  in fire in Faridpur on Saturday night while six shops were burnt to ashes in another incident of fire in the district at the same night. 

The victims were identified as Aleya Begum, 40, of Chalkmamudpur area of Faridpur sadar upazila. Her six-year aged daughter Aduri, 6, was also burnt fatally in the fire and was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries the same night. 

Mohammad Prince Pathan of Faridpur Fire Service station informed, around 10-00 pm on Saturday, fire erupted at three rooms of Aleya Begum   of Chalkmamudpur area due to electric short circuit. Within a short time, fire engulfed in three rooms of the house burning all furniture of the rooms and critically burning Aleya Begum and her child before arrival of the fire service personnel. Aleya Begum died before rescuing her while her child Aduri was rescued with fatal burnt injuries. She was rushed to DMCH where she also died during treatment. 

Meanwhile, in another incident of fire six shops of Char Bhadrasan upazila Bazaar of Faridpur district was burnt to ashes around 12-00 midnight on Saturday. Fire service personnel from Faridpur rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after one hour of effort.  The short circuit was the cause of fire, sources informed.
