Mother, daughter and broker detained on Jhenaidah frontier

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a mother and her daughter along with a broker from Jhenaidah frontier on Wednesday night. 

The detaineees were identified as Rina Akter, 35, wife of late Helal Uddin of Darikat Baula in Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh, her daughter Bilkis Akter, 16, and broker Tota Mia, 40, son of Ruhul Amin of Baaghadanga village of Moheshpur upazila of Jheniadah.

BGB-58 battalion Assistant Director Nazrul Islam Khan quoting Director of the battalion Qamrul Ahsan said those two women were trying to enter into Indian territiry throw Shyamkur boredrng area. 

When patrolling BGB members challenged them inside the Bangladesh territiry near border pillar number 60/109 R, locally known as Talkata Bridge, they failed to prodiuce any paper in favour of their departure from Bagladesh.  The mother-daughter duo later admitted that broker Tota Mia, an autobike driver was helping them to enter into Inidain teriotory against some money. A case was filed with Moheshpur police staion in this connection and the detainiees were handed over to the police, BGB Assistant Director said.
