Eminent businessman and industrialist Morshed Alam M.P. has been elected chairman of Mercantile Bank Limited.
The Board of the bank at the 345th meeting on Thursday elected him as chairman, said a press release.
Morshed Alam is the Sponsor Director of the Bank. He is the founder chairman of ‘Bengal Group of Industries’. Alam, a lawmaker from Noakhali-2 (Senbag-Sonaimuri) constituency, was also elected a member of parliament in the 10th national elections.
He is also chairman of Private Satellite channel RTV and National Life Insurance. Besides, he is involved in financial services, export-oriented textile & apparel industry, real estate and construction materials, hotel and resorts and many other business and industries in the country.
Morshed Alam is well-recognized for his benevolent contribution to the society through different social welfare activities, education, health & social development movements. He is the member of trustee board of Peoples University of Bangladesh.
