More rice, cash, dry food allocated in three districts

The government has allocated rice, cash and dry food for Brahmanbaria, Cumilla and Kishoreganj districts to distribute humanitarian aid to the victims of various natural calamities including floods. The allocation was made by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief on Friday.

Among the allotted districts, 2,000 dry and other food packets in Brahmanbaria district, 200 metric tons of rice in Cumilla district, 17 lakh cash, 1700 dry and other food packets and 100 metric tons of rice, 10 lakh cash and 2 thousand packets of dry and other food have been allotted.

Earlier, 4,020 metric tonnes of rice, Tk 5.36 crore and 95,000 packets of dry and other food items were distributed in favor of the deputy commissioners from May 17 to June 22 as humanitarian assistance in the recent floods in 11 districts of the country.

The allocated relief money is to be distributed only as humanitarian assistance to the victims of various natural calamities including floods during emergencies.
