Our premier’s dream to give every marginalized person of the country a roof over their head is going to be materialised. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said that she has released Taka 1000 crore to construct 50,000 more houses for the homeless and landless people.

Earlier, under the premier’s guidance the government dispersed pukka houses to some 69,904 landless and homeless families under the Ashrayan project as a gift from the government in the Mujib Barsho. This is just an astonishing and laudable initiative by our PM to say the least.

The fact, what makes this initiative a praiseworthy one, is that apart from receiving the houses, the deprived families also received ownership papers of the house.

The project comes as a

blessing for the

marginalised people

This will bring a huge sigh of relief for these homeless people as they do not have to worry for a home anymore and on top of that those families who constantly struggle to pay rent will never ever have to worry about that. This will ultimately lead to boost their self-esteem.

Undeniably, offering houses to homeless people and their families will renew their hopes and dreams of taming poverty and increasing their confidence. The recipients will not only be provided with houses but also with basic facilities and requirements including health, education, and other utility services. Additionally, rudimentary rights will also be safeguarded for them, which will enhance their standard of living.

The difficult period of pandemic has led our country and the whole world to suffer from extensive unemployment and economic adversity. Amid all these, this project came as a blessing for the marginalized people.
