Founded by Bengali     coffee lovers, The Monarchy Coffee is a marriage of coffee and art. Opened last year, Monarchy was a vision several years in the making. After much research on coffees and continental cuisines, the owners decided to open the tea room cum restaurant they had been dreaming about.

In a city already teeming with thousands of trendy restaurants, Monarchy has a crew of loyal, skilled, good chefs who have years of experience and have perfected the art of preparing French inspired culinary delights. The décor is classy, more like a chic open English café. The interior looks glamorous, with the sitting options radiating a comforting vibe.

Scanning the menu, I ordered a Cappuccino (BDT 240) along with Spicy Tuna Sandwich (BDT 320). This was followed by meaty Monarchy Monster (BDT 390). Perfectly cut long and thin French fries with overload of cheese curds and hot beefy gravy ladled over the top tastes perfect.

The all-day breakfast menus are vibrant and colourful. The breakfast menu has a flurry of options to cater to every taste. Egg Benedict (BDT 400) was my favourite among all. It consists of hot buttered toasted English muffins, perfectly poached eggs, chicken rashers, spinach and a warm, creamy, unbroken Hollandaise sauce.

Next in the line was the delicious French classic Cordon Bleu with French Fries (BDT 450). Made of chicken breasts stuffed with chicken rashers, salad and cheese coated with crunchy golden breadcrumbs,  was amazingly delicious. The French fries with the sauce really completes the dish. It's creamy and tangy and like a next-level gravy.

Monarchy also excels for its burgers and pizzas, drawing crowds from across the city. One of such is Mini Grilled Chicken Burger (BDT 350). The pillow soft sesame buns burger layer is made with a juicy spicy fried chicken teamed up with mayo, cheese sauce, and tomato. The chicken is super crispy outside and succulent inside.

The perfectly balanced burger filling make this a mouthful with each bite. In pizza, one can opt for Chicken Tandoori Pizza (BDT 500/800). Super thin crust topped with mozzarella cheese, tandoori chicken, mushroom and rosemary, drizzled with olive oil and oregano. The flavour of the succulent tandoori meat brought smile on my face. It goes great with Blood Orange (BDT 320) or Strawberry Frappe (BDT 380).

Finally, in desserts there was awesome American Cheese Cake (BDT 350), Chocolate Fudge Cake (BDT 250) and Rainbow Cake (BDT 375). Altogether, The Monarchy Coffee provides a cafe experience where coffee is excellent, service is great and space is inspiring, to make your visit satisfying and comfortable.
