A meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee will be held today (Sunday) to determine the date of Eid-ul-Azha. This is the second largest religious festival for Muslims all across the globe.
The meeting will be held in the office of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram at 7:15pm.
According to a media release by the Islamic Foundation on Saturday, State Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Faridul Haque Khan will chair the meeting.
Having reviewed information about the sighting of Zilhaj moon, the committee will announce the date of Eid-ul-Azha.
The committee has requested the people to inform the committee over the following phone and fax numbers if they get the sight of the Zilhaj moon in the sky from any part of the country.
