Mongla Port donates Tk 50m to PM’s corona fund

Many government and private organizations in the country are giving donations to the Covid-19 fund in order to help the distressed people across the country during the pandemic. Mongla Port authorities in this regard has donated tk 50 million to the ‘House Construction Fund by Private Finance and Coronavirus Assistance Funding’ on Thursday.

Mongla Port Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa on Thursday donated a cheque of tk 50 million to the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Dr Ahmad Kaikaus. State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Secretary Mohammed Mezbah Uddin were present at the cheque donation ceremony. 

It is to be mentioned that several districts including Cox’s Bazar were severely hit by a massive cyclone. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at that time visited the affected districts and declared a project named ‘Ashrayan’ in order to reduce the sufferings of cyclone-hit people across the country. 

After the successful result of the project, the project was adapted into a broad perspective and then it became  ‘House Construction Fund by Private Finance’ and the project worked to improve the lives of distressed people all over the country.
