Commodore M Shahjahan, who worked as Deputy Director General of Bangladesh Cost Guard, was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral, says a press release of Coast Guard issued on Thursday.
After being promoted, he was made new chairman of the Mongla Port Authority. He succeeded Rear Admiral Sheikh Abul Kalam Azad.
M Shahjahan joined the Bangladesh Navy on July 24 in 1984, and received the commission on July 24 in 1987. He served in various important positions of the Bangladesh Navy during his long service life. He worked as Director of various departments at Bangladesh Navy headquarters as well as captain of different ships.
Rear Admiral Shahjahan received numerous commendations for his outstanding performance and professional excellence in the Navy. He became the deputy director general of Coast Guard on March 11 in 2019 and he was carrying out his duties with great success.
