Mongla Economic Zone ready for investment

A high level delegation of the Prime Minister’s Office led by Abul Kalam Azad, Principal Coordinator of SDG, PMO, visited the Mongla Economic Zone in Khulna on Friday to see the progress on development works of the economic zone. The PowerPac Economic Zone Private limited under Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) has been developing the eco-friendly economic zone – building 33KVA power plant and water supply plant with underground reservoir -- on 205 acres of land.

Roads and boundary construction works of the zone are also completed with admin and security already functioning in full swing. M Salahuddin, Director of PowerPac and Syed Qamrul Islam Mohon, Director of PowerPac and also Chief Operating Officer of Sikder Group, briefed the guests on the progress of the development works in the economic zone. Bagerhat district commissioner and Khulna divisional commissioner were also present during the visit.

The economic zone, ready for investment, would allow joint venture, and share transfer and exempt royalty and technical fees from income tax. The economic zone features, warehouse, truck bay, QC lab and R&D facility, training centre, fire station and fire hydrants.
