Bangladesh-India matches, either cricket or football, have always added an extra bit of spice. Tension is also predominant in club football beyond the boundaries of the national team.

The battle between Bashundhara Kings and West Bengal’s historical team, Mohun Bagan, in the last two seasons of the AFC Cup has spread extra excitement among the football lovers of the two countries.

Mohun Bagan are scheduled to reach Dhaka on Sunday afternoon. They will take on the Bashundhara Kings at the Bashundhara Kings Arena Stadium on Tuesday next.

Mohun Bagan will practice at the match venue on Monday evening. The media manager Ratan Chakraborty said, ‘We are ready to leave for Dhaka. Visas and the tickets of all the players of the team are ready.’

Meanwhile, the Bashundhara Kings expect to bring the match forward, but the AFC cancelled their appeal due to broadcast convenience.

One team will advance to the next round of the South Asian Group of the AFC Cup. Mohun Bagan managed seven points from three outings and is at the top of the points table, while the Bashundhara Kings have four points in their bags from the same number of encounters. The Kings must win in the second leg to qualify for the next round.

The Kings drew 2-2 Mohun Bagan of their first away proceedings in Group D at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, on October 24. The other two teams in the group are Odisha FC and Maziya. Both have three points from three outings.
