At a time when knowledge, technology and skilled human capital are increasingly defining national competitiveness, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman has established himself as one of Bangladesh's leading corporate figures driving change through education, technology, entrepreneurship and workforce development. With more than three decades of professional experience, he has consistently advocated that Bangladesh's greatest strength lies not in its natural resources or infrastructure, but in the potential of its people.

As the Group CEO of Daffodil Group, one of Bangladesh's leading conglomerates with interests spanning education, information and communication technology (ICT), investment and entrepreneurship, Dr. Nuruzzaman has played a pivotal role in shaping strategic initiatives that connect education with industry, innovation and employment. His leadership has helped strengthen collaboration between academia and the private sector, ensuring that graduates are better prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive global job market.

Born in Meghna, Cumilla, Dr. Nuruzzaman completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Dhaka before earning an MBA in Management Information Systems (MIS). He later obtained a PhD from Techno India University, where his research focused on developing a sustainable social ecosystem for economically disadvantaged but talented students, reflecting his long-standing commitment to inclusive education and social mobility.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Dr. Nuruzzaman remains actively engaged with several national and international professional organisations. He serves as Vice President of the Bangladesh Wushu Federation, Treasurer of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh, and Bangladesh Representative of both the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) and the TMMi Foundation. These roles have enabled him to contribute to advancing professional standards, entrepreneurship and technological excellence both at home and abroad.

His professional philosophy extends well beyond organisational success. Throughout his career, he has championed education, skills development, entrepreneurship and global employability as the four pillars of sustainable national development. He believes that investing in people is the most effective way to secure Bangladesh's long-term economic growth and global competitiveness.

A strong advocate of Bangladesh's growing startup ecosystem, Dr. Nuruzzaman has repeatedly emphasised the need for experienced business leaders to step forward as angel investors and mentors. In his view, successful entrepreneurship requires much more than financial capital. It depends on guidance, professional networks and long-term commitment to nurturing innovation. Startups such as GreenData Ltd. and DocTime are among the ventures that reflect the growing entrepreneurial landscape he actively supports.

His global outlook has been shaped through visits to more than 40 countries, where he has studied education systems, technological innovation, governance models and workforce development practices. Rather than promoting the wholesale adoption of foreign models, he believes international best practices should be carefully adapted to Bangladesh's unique socio-economic realities.

At the heart of his vision is a simple yet compelling belief: "The greatest investment a nation can make is not in projects, but in people. Education builds knowledge, skills create capability, entrepreneurship generates opportunity, and global mobility expands prosperity."

As Bangladesh steadily advances towards a knowledge-driven economy, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman continues to advocate for a future in which every young person is equipped not only with academic qualifications but also with the practical skills, innovative mindset and global opportunities needed to thrive. His journey reflects an enduring commitment to building institutions, empowering people and helping shape a more innovative, competitive and inclusive Bangladesh.
