Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given 2 acres of land in city’s Purbachal area to the Ministry of Agriculture for setting up a world-class state-of-the-art pack house and
accreditation laboratory.
“A modern and world-class pack house and accreditation laboratory will be set up there to boost exports of agricultural products. Quick initiatives and projects will be taken up for construction of this pack house. If it is built, the export of fruits and vegetables of this country to Europe, Middle East and abroad will increase many times,” he said.
He was speaking at a seminar on ‘Modern Pack House Facilities and
Construction of Accredited Laboratory related workshop’ as the chief guest, organized by Horticulture Export Development Foundation (Hortex Foundation)at the auditorium of Bangladesh Agricultural Research
Council (BARC) in city’s Farmgate area, a press release said. Agriculture Secretary Md Mesbahul Islam presided over the programme while Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU)’s Department of Horticulture Professor Dr Md Kamrul Hassan presented key note paper.
