Models hailing from 12 different countries participated in international fashion show held in Ladakh. Among them was Rafah Nanjiba Torsa, the crowned winner of 'Miss World Bangladesh 2019'. Model and actress Torsa represented Bangladesh in Ladakh. This fashion show, hosted as part of the Vibrant Ladakh Festival at the lofty Umling La, has now etched its name into the annals of Guinness World Records.

A total of 12 participants set a Guinness World Record through their involvement in this fashion show. Torsa, the reigning Miss World Bangladesh, achieved a remarkable milestone as she became the first model-actress from Bangladesh to secure a Guinness World Record.

She expressed her joy at this accomplishment, saying, "It is a matter of great pride to bring Bangladesh into the Guinness World Record fold. I owe a lot to BGMEA for their support. We hope that our esteemed Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, and the people of our nation will share in our happiness. I urge everyone to pray for our country and the continued success of our showbiz and garment sectors."

Torsa also added, "This achievement holds immense significance for Bangladesh. As far as I know, this marks the first instance where Bangladesh has secured a Guinness World Record through the efforts of a model-actress like me. The excitement is beyond words. Each of the 12 participants will receive individual certificates, which we will receive soon."

Remarkably, the show was organised through a collaborative effort involving the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, the Ladakh Art and Entertainment Alliance, and received support from the Indian Army and the Border Roads Agency.

The organisers shared that the theme of the Umling La fashion show was ' Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' which translates to 'One World, One Family,' promoting not only diversity but also the highly esteemed GI-tagged Ladakh wool.
