State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that model petrol pumps will be introduced gradually across the country. He said the old ones are not being closed now.
The minister made the remarks following opening of the M/s Haji Mashud Ali model gasoline pump on Sunday on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway (Osmani Nagar Dayamir).
According to State Minister Nasrul Hamid, “Bangladesh has made decisions regarding gas pumps in 2018. Various designs are created for it depending on where it will be—in the city, beside a highway, or in a rural area. Eight models are pumped along highway roads during the first phase. There have been six launches of them. After our approval, private institutions began construction.”
He also said, “In addition to taking oil at the model petrol pump, there will be an electricity charging station
here. Car drivers can rest here after a long journey. A bath will be provided for them.”
State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Affairs Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Sylhet-3 Constituency Member of Parliament Habibur Rahman Habib, and other administration officials were present at the event.
