Mobile molecular diagnostic lab launched at Rooppur project

Coronavirus test for the officials and staff of Rooppur Nuclear Power Project in Ishwardi of Pabna has been started through mobile laboratory from Sunday. 

According to sources, the laboratory (DMFR lab) has been set up at the gate-3 of Residential Green City for foreigners working in Rooppur Nuclear Power project.

Concerned sources said, the mobile laboratory is a world-standard Molecular Diagnostic Lab equipped with Biosafety Level-3. The report of Corona test can be done at the lab at the shortest possible time. 

Faizur Rahman, Managing Director of the Molecular Diagnostic Lab informed that the laboratory has been set up to give a quick report of Corona virus test.  This lab can give report within hour. 

He further said, two such labs have been made in the country and one lab has been set up at Rooppur Power plant in Iswardi on priority basis and the other at the Haji camp in Dhaka. 

Emdadul Haque, local representative of DMFR Molecular lab informed, since a large number of foreign engineers and workers are engaged in Rooppur Nuclear power project, Corona test is required for them.  He further said, fees for the Corona test have been fixed at Taka 3,000 for all and Taka 2,700 for those who will go abroad.
