Mobile courts conducted a week-long drive on illegal current nets in six upazilas of Munshiganj district. The drives were conducted by six mobile courts from 7th January to 13th January, 2020. According to District Fisheries Office, six mobile courts of six upazilas conducted these drives. During this time, mobile court seized 536.406 lakhs meter current net and fined Tk2.09 lakhs. But no one got punishment at this time.
During the drive, Deputy Director of Fisheries Department from Dhaka division Sayed Md Alamgir Hossain, District Fisheries Officer Md Zillur Rahman, Senior Assistant Director Sunil Mandol, Sadar Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Aslam Hossain Sheikh along with other officials were also present.
