A mobile court has evicted three illegally constructed brickfields in Ghumdhum union of Naikhongchari upazila.
On Sunday, a joint initiative of Bandarban District Administration and the Bandarban Office of the Department of Environment led by Bandarban District Administration Executive Magistrate Kayesur Rahman conducted the operation from noon to evening. During this operation, RE Brix, DSB Brix, SHB 3 brickfields of Ghumdhum Union of Naikhongchari were completely evicted.
Fakhar Uddin, Assistant Director, Bandarban Office, Department of Environment, said that the mobile court has been conducted against the existing brick kiln in the restricted area in the light of the order of the High Court Division's Writ Petition No. 1204/2022.
RAB, police and fire service and civil defense officials including Fakhar Uddin, assistant director of environment department Bandarban office, junior chemist Abdus Salam were present at the time.
