Indian legendary artiste Mitali Mukherjee and Tapan Chowdhury of Bangladesh have sang together many times throughout their career. They performed on the same stage last year. And, a year later, they are again going to perform together on the same stage.
On Saturday, November 30, they performed at the InterContinental Hotel in the capital. After 8pm, Tapan Chowdhury came on stage first. He performed Debdas, Palash Futeche, Mon Shudhu Mon Chhuyeche, Tumi Amar Prothom Shokal along with a few other songs.
Mitali Mukherjee came upon the stage shortly after 9pm, after Tapan Chowdhury. She performed ‘Purono Shei Diner Katha’ right after ascending the stage.
In this regard, Mitali Mukherjee said, “Whenever I come back to Bangladesh, I feel like I am returning to my memories, coming to my roots. Over and over again, I give thanks to god, because when I learned sinning, I did not realize that I would get such popularity, I would receive everyone’s love so much. This is truly a blessing of the lord. Even coming to my home land for a short time gives me a strange joy thinking that maybe I will be coming back once again soon. Happiness works in the mind with that thinking.”
