Missing schoolboy’s body recovered from Brahmaputra

The body of a fourth class student named Fahad (10) was found 36 hours after the boat capsized, while he was going by boat with his  relatives on the Brahmaputra river at Bahadia in Egarsindur union of Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj.

Delwar Hossain Dulal, a relative of the child said the body was recovered from the floating pipe of a dredger at Balur Ghat in Pathan Bari, about a kilometer south of the accident site, at around 8 am on Tuesday (August 11) and was buried at the family graveyard. The late Fahad Bahadur was the youngest son of Deen Islam and a fourth grader at a local primary school.

On Sunday (August 9) afternoon, he took a small boat ride with his family and relatives on the Brahmaputra River near his house. Suddenly, at about 6:30 pm, the boat sank. Many of those who were with him went ashore at seven, but Fahad was no longer found.
