Unidentified miscreants managed to escape by looting gold ornaments and cash money by making the family members of renowned dramatist Litu Anam unconscious by administering them sedatives mixed with food at his Ashrampara house in Thakurgaon on Monday.
Police said, on Monday morning family members of Litu Anam started to drowse after taking their breakfast. They slept all day long and around 10-00 at night, they again went to sleep by locking their gate.
On Tuesday morning they awakened from sleep and saw the doors of the rooms wide opened and goods kept inside the almirah and show cases spread around. Unidentified miscreants managed to escape at least 50 bhori or gold ornaments and Taka one lakh from the house. Anisur Rahman, SI of Thakurgaon Police station seized various foods from the house as evidence and said, the seized samples will be sent to Dhaka for chemical tests.
Litu Anam and his elder brother Shafiul Anam were not present at house during the incident. SI Anisur Rahman informed, he suspects inmates of the house were made unconscious by mixing sedatives with food.
