BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, was shown arrested in nine more criminal cases filed with Paltan and Ramna model police stations after the October 28 mayhem which left one police man dead and several other injured.
The courts of Dhaka metropolitan magistrates Rajesh Chowdhury and Md Sultan Sohag passed the order after holding hearings on Thursday afternoon.
Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Mirza Abbas on October 31 last year from his Shahidbagh residence in the capital in a case filed over sabotage. He has been in jail ever since.
On October 28, a chaos broke out as BNP leaders and workers entered into a clash with police in the city's Nayapaltan and its surrounding areas during BNP's grand rally.
Amid the clash, BNP men allegedly attacked on the residence of the Chief Justice (CJ) and broke one of its gates and damaged its nameplate.
A total of 11 cases were filed against Abbas following the incidents.
