Police on Saturday locked down a building at Tolarbag area in Mirpur in the capital, where returnees from abroad are staying with their families.

The lockdown came after a returnee became positive in Covid 19 test, allowing nobody to enter into or come outside the building.
All the residents of the building have been instructed to self-quarantine, said sources.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mipur zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mostak Ahmed told the media that movement surrounding the building has also been restricted following instructions from Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).

“A compulsory self-quarantine has been served to all the residents of the building,” he added.

Sources said, returnees from Canada and Japan were staying at the building with one of them tested positive for coronavirus.
