Bangladesh national cricket team’s new spin bowling coach Rangana Herath has started working with the national team since the Zimbabwe tour. The Tiger spinners are very thrilled to have this legendary Sri Lankan spinner as their mentor.
They are learning as much as they can in this short span of time before the series starts. Young all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz thinks the spinners will benefit greatly if they can take and implement the advice received from the new spin consultant.
"We have a new spin coach who is sharing his experience with us," Miraz said in a video message sent by the BCB after the two-day warm-up match in Harare. He is a very successful bowler. He just worked with us for three or four days and spoke separately with the bowlers. If we can implement the technical and tactical aspects that he is working on, it will be beneficial for us. '
Not only skill or bowling technique, Rangana Herath has a special matter that really impressed Miraz. He said, ‘Another thing which I liked is he’s a lot stronger mentally. He gives a lot of emotional support. I like this thing very much. I think it would be very helpful if we could use the advice he is giving us and do more with it. '
