Bangladesh's success rate in ODIs is quite heavy even though they are still unable to adapt to Tests and T20s. The Tigers are consistently giving brilliant performances in this edition. Therefore, the expectations of the country's cricket lovers around them in ODIs are high. Cricketers are also much more confident with this version. The proof of that was found in the voice of Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The star off-spinning all-rounder said they dream of winning the Asia Cup and the World Cup.

Six members of the Bangladesh team returned to the country after the West Indies tour ended on Wednesday. Among them, two cricketers are Miraz and right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed. Miraz spoke about his dream while facing the media at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The Bangladesh team has played three ODI series so far this year and won each one. After defeating Afghanistan 2-1 at home, they won by the same margin in South Africa. Then Russell Domingo's disciples whitewashed the Caribbean 3-0 in the recently concluded tour. With this, the Tigers have tasted five ODI series wins in a row. All have come under the captaincy of experienced left-arm opener Tamim Iqbal.

Due to the recent success of the Bangladesh team, Miraz is hopeful of doing well in the next ODI World Cup. “The way we are going, I think the next World Cup will be better for us if we go through this process. Because there will be many experienced players. With a fairly good experience, we will be able to play well in the World Cup”, said Miraz.

The Bangladesh ODI team has a great mix of experience and youth. Tamim, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad have played in the national team for a long time. A few days ago, Tamim said that four senior cricketers will bid farewell to ODI’s after playing the 2023 World Cup. Dreaming of achieving something big to make their end memorable, Miraz said, 'If we do something good in the World Cup, it will be good for us, it will be good for the country. Of course, I will try to achieve something big with them. We can try, maybe play good cricket. We can figure out how to win the World Cup. It's all about luck. We dream of winning the Asia Cup and the World Cup.'

It should be noted that the Asia Cup will be held in August-September this year. The ODI World Cup will be held in India next year in October-Novembe.
