Miraz crosses Shakib taking highest wickets overseas

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, could have a bit solace despite led by him Bangladesh suffer a big 201 runs defeat against West Indies when he surpassed Shakib Al Hassan becoming the highest wicket taker of Bangladesh in oversease in the Test cricket.

Shakib Al Hassan claimed the highest 83 Test wickets at oversease ground but Miraz just has overtaken his predecessor with taking 85 wickets.

Mehidy, Miraz whoplayed his 50th Test and also captained the side, after taking the wicket of West Indies’ lateorder batter Alzarri Joseph in the second second innings when Bangladesh booked the hosts for 152 runs.  

Shakib, on his way to take 83 wickets at away grouds played 26 matches when Miraz 

played 25 matches to surpass the senior allrounder. But Shakib claimed five-wicket five times in away Test, two more than Miraz and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam and pacer Taskin Ahmed grabbed 41 wickets in 15 and 14 matches respectively in away from the country.

Taskin, however, took his tally to 41, thanks to his career-best 6-64 against West Indies’ second innings. Mohammad Rafique has 34 away wickets in 15 Test matches.

Earlier, Shakib also lost his home record when Taijul Islam eclipsed Shakib’s home wickets tally of 163 during the South Africa series. Taijul now has 170 wickets at home with Miraz is following Taijul with 104 wickets. But the ace all rounder Shakib is still the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in Test 

cricket with 246 wickets in 71 matches, despite losing his home and away record to Taijul and Miraz respectively.  

Taijul has 211 matches in 50 Test and Miraz so far took 189 matches playing as many Test matches.    

Seeing as, Shakib has no chance to play Test again, Taijul has eh best possible chance to earn the feat to be the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh.
