Minor girl die in city

A minor girl died after a brick fell on her from an eight-storeyed under-construction building in city’s Kathalbagan area on Sunday.

Inspector Paritosh Chandra Swapan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalabagan Police Station, confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post.

The deceased was identified as Jannat Akter Arifa, a six-year-old girl.

According to the police, victim’s father went to work at the building along with his minor daughter. Suddenly a brick chip from the under-construction building fell on Arifa’s head while she was standing under the building, leaving her dead on the spot.

Her body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy. However, no case has been registered in this regard yet, he said.
