A child named Asiya (2), daughter of Md Saiful Sheikh of Nazirpur Karigar Para of Nazirpur Union of the upazila, fell under the wheel of a mini truck and died on the spot.
According to family sources, at around 12 noon on Sunday, Saiful Islam, a betel trader by profession, parked the mini truck in front of his house in Nazirpur Karigar Para.
Saiful Sheikh's two-year-old daughter fell under the wheel and died on the spot while the truck driver was removing the truck. Locals seized the truck and informed the police. The driver fled. Gurudaspur police rushed to the spot.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gurudaspur Police Station Mohammad Abdul Matin confirmed the incident and said that the case was being prepared and the truck was also detained.
