Teachers, staff and members of Milestone School and College gathered at its Diabari campus on Tuesday to commemorate the first anniversary of the devastating air crash that claimed dozens of lives, holding prayers and paying tribute to the victims.

A special prayer and doa mahfil was organised in memory of the students, teachers, parents and employees who lost their lives in the tragedy.

Floral tributes were also placed in honour of the victims as the school community observed the day in solemn remembrance.

Teachers from both the school and college sections, along with administrative staff, joined the programme, reflecting on the profound loss that continues to shape the institution.

The tragedy remains deeply etched in the memories of students, teachers and families, with the absence of classmates and colleagues still felt across the campus.

The Milestone air crash shocked the nation and sparked widespread calls for stronger aviation safety measures to prevent similar disasters.

On July 21, 2025, a Bangladesh Air Force FT-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, killing 36 people, including 28 students, and leaving many others injured.

A government investigation committee submitted its report on the crash on November 5, 2025, to the then Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus.
