Milestone College observed National Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day with due respects and solemnity on the college campus. To mark the day, Milestone College Organizes various programs. The programmes were-probhat ferry, hoisting the national flag at half mast, Black flag hoisting, wearing black badges, placing floral wreath at the college Shaheed Minar, discussion and cultural ceremony. Milestone College’s school branch ‘Milestone Preparatory KG School’ organized a similar program to celebrate the day with due respect.
On this occasion, a long probhat ferry was held in the first morning of the day with the participation of the students of Milestone College and Milestone Preparatory KG School. The long probhat ferry to the tune of the immortal song 'Amar Bhaiyer Rokte Rangano Ekushe Februari/Ami Ki Bhulite Pariy' crossed the various roads of Uttara and ended at the permanent campus of Milestone College at Diabari. At this time, Principal of Milestone College Professor Shahidul Islam,Vice-Principal Mohammad Ziaul Alam, Director (Administration) Masud Alam and Principal of Milestone Preparatory KG School Rifat Nabi Alam paid homage by laying a wreath at the altar of Shaheed Minar on the Diabari permanent campus of Milestone College.
After paying tribute, a special discussion meeting and cultural program was held highlighting the history of the language movement. Students of Milestone College and Milestone Preparatory KG School highlighted the true significance of the day with patriotic performances during the colorful cultural program.
