Mild heat wave likely to abate

Mild heat wave sweeping over some parts of the country may abate at some places as rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at several parts of the country, reports BSS.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Mymensingh, Sitakunda, M.court, Cumilla, Feni, Hatiya, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Jashore, Kusthia, Satkhira and Bhola and it may abate at some places due to rain”, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin issued here this morning.

It also said light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at some places over the country. However, the day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country. The maximum temperature was recorded 37 degrees Celsius at Feni in Chattogram division, while minimum temperature is 25.5 degrees Celsius at Teknaf in Chattogram division.

The sun sets at 6:39 pm on Tuesday and rises at 5:30 am today (Wednesday) in the capital.
